What We Do

Thinking about bringing your machine in for service?
You are probably wondering what happens to your machine after it is booked in.

Firstly, we run broad hardware diagnostics looking for any stand out failures.
These diagnostics run tests on your hard drive, RAM, fans, battery and many other components.
We run two sets of main diagnostics –

- Macintosh Resource Inspector (MRI) – Broad range of quick tests.
- Apple Service Diagnostic (ASD) – Longer, more intensive tests.

After general diagnostics have completed, we turn our focus onto the issue reported.
Sometimes the diagnostics reveal the cause of issue(s), other times we need to test further.
We do this by checking though system logs to find previous errors or issues and if necessary by running the machine through stress tests.

Other tests we might run over the course of repair are:
- Graphics Processor Test (GPT)
- Notebook Battery Diagnostics (NBD)

If we do run these tests on your machine it will be noted down on your service report that will be issued once the machine is collected.
